Happy 16th Birthday, Adam
Yesterday, my son Adam turned sixteen.
Sixteen.
It feels strange to write that number. In my mind, he is still the little boy who needed help with everything, who would run around the house with endless energy, ask a thousand questions, and somehow make even an ordinary day feel louder and more alive.
But time has its own way of moving forward.
Now, Adam is growing into a young man. He has his own thoughts, his own interests, his own dreams, and his own path waiting ahead of him. Watching that transformation is one of the greatest privileges of being a parent.
As parents, we often wish time would slow down. We want to hold on to the small moments: the first steps, the funny conversations, the school days, the family trips, the little habits that quietly become memories before we even realize it.
But growing up is also something to celebrate.
Sixteen is not just another birthday. It is a reminder that Adam is entering an exciting new chapter of life: discovering who he is, learning what matters to him, making mistakes, becoming stronger, and building the confidence to face the world.
My wish for him is simple.
May you grow into a kind person, Adam. May you stay curious, brave, humble, and strong. May you find work that excites you, friends who genuinely support you, and a life that makes you proud.
And whenever life gets difficult, I hope you always remember that you are never alone. Your family will always be here, cheering for you, supporting you, and loving you through every stage of your journey.
Happy 16th birthday, Adam.
You are growing up far too quickly, but I could not be more proud of the young man you are becoming.
